Transparency International Pakistan (TI-P) and DHA Suffa University (DSU) Collaborated on International Anti -Corruption Day 2024

Transparency International Pakistan (TI -P) and DSU jointly organized a Seminar on the International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) 2024 “Uniting Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity” at the DSU.

DHA Suffa University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is reflected in its proactive stance against corruption, aligning closely with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. Its initiatives, such as partnerships with organizations like Transparency International Pakistan, highlight its dedication to promoting anti-corruption efforts at institutional and societal levels.

The event brought together students, faculty, and notable speakers including Chairman TI – P Justice (R.) Zia Perwez, Kashif Sheikh (Executive Director, TI -P), Dr. Jawed Ali (Chief Information Commissioner, SIC Karachi), Dr. Samreen Bari (HoD H&SS) Dr. Muhammad Ali Ehsan (Assistant Professor -IR) and Dr. Johar Farooqi (Director QEC).

The speakers emphasized the critical need for collective action to address corruption at both institutional and grassroots levels. They highlighted the vital role of youth in promoting ethical governance and standing against corrupt practices. Discussions extended to the broader impacts of corruption on national development, particularly its adverse effects on economic growth, justice, and public trust. Participants also examined practical strategies to enhance transparency in governance, with a focus on leveraging technology to reduce opportunities for corruption.
