Before Joining DHA Suffa University Iqbal Hashmi was Director Operations of Pakistan Academy of Engineering – Member Academy of International Council of Engineering & Technological Sciences (CAETS), USA.

Iqbal Hashmi carries rich experience of over thirty five years of developing new businesses and managing local as well as multinational companies as CEO. He has received Best CEO Award, Global Excellence Award, Regional Excellence Award and Leadership Excellence Award for his exceptional professional performance in tandem in various business organizations. He established branded coffee business in Pakistan which helped to promote coffee culture in Pakistan.

He started his career as a mechanical engineer and served as lieutenant in Pakistan Navy for five years. He has worked in marine, industrial marketing, restaurant and engineering sectors. Diversity of exposure is his strength and while providing consultation services to clients, he develops viable, adaptive and flexible strategic options. His areas of concentration are Corporate Governance, Leadership, Business Strategy, Finance. Entrepreneurship, Marketing Management and Supply Chain Management.

He is visiting faculty member of NED University and Karachi University Business School. He teaches Leadership, Strategic Management, Organizational Management, Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Development Economics, Change Management and Financial Management to Masters’ level students. He has also taught at various other universities and institutes in Pakistan as well. He is a professional trainer and motivational speaker. He has provided trainings and business consultation in Pakistan, UAE and Ethiopia. He played a pivotal role in revamping NED Academy and Centre for Continuing Engineering Education to develop them as Centres of Excellence with commendable success.

His first degree is in Mechanical Engineering and later on he did MS and MBA, all from top universities of Pakistan. In business he possesses record academic distinction. He has done PGDs in International Management from Sweden and in Leadership from Singapore. He is married with four grown up children working in various professional fields abroad.
