Introduction MPhil Psychology
The MPhil Psychology Program at DHA Suffa University, Karachi spans over two years. It aims to provide a top-notch education by offering a high-quality teaching and learning environment to aspiring psychologists. Option-3: 30 Credit hours course work
If the student attains less than 2.5 CGPA, he/she will be given only a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) instead of MPhil degree.
Evaluation of M.Phil. Thesis
- M.Phil. (With Course and Research Work)
The student will submit a research thesis which will be evaluated by two external Examiners (outside Karachi) appointed by the BASR. The M.Phil. degree shall be awarded by the BASR subject to positive reports of the supervisors, the two external examiners and a successful oral defense of the thesis by the candidate.
Objectives of the Program
1. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the discipline of Psychology and quality education to students.
2. To develop specific technical skills through practice that can be applicable in various fields of psychology.
3. To conduct psychological research according to well-recognized and known national and international standards.
4. To provide skills to conduct research that can contribute to the development and growth of practical-based knowledge.
5. To train psychologists about using scientific methods and skills for assessing, understanding, treating, and preventing human problems in behavior affect cognition
Psychology is a rapidly growing knowledge domain that has a significant impact on various aspects of life. Its applications are ubiquitous and can be found in hospitals, educational institutions, humanitarian agencies, industrial centers, and many other areas. After completing an MPhil in Psychology, there are numerous career opportunities available. The most popular ones include joining universities, hospitals, NGOs, and government organizations such as the armed forces, which use the services of psychologists to assess the aptitude and mental state of candidates during recruitment. Recent studies have shown that psychology is an emerging field with a wealth of knowledge and possibilities.
• 16 years of education in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.0 OR 50% marks in the annual system.
• Minimum 50% score in the DSU Graduate Assessment Test.
