DSU’s IERC (International Education Resource Center) would like to bring to the attention of DSU’s students and alumni that a Study in Malaysia Education fair will take place at Movenpick hotel on 2nd & 3rd September 2023, where you will have the opportunity to meet representatives from various Malaysian universities in person to seek admission guidance.  Students exploring Malaysia as a possible destination for further higher studies are strongly encouraged to attend.

USEFP UGrad Semester Exchange Program

DSU’s IERC (International Education Resource Center) would like to bring to the attention of all undergraduate students of DSU that USEFP’s UGrad Semester Exchange program is presently accepting applications. All students aspiring to go to USA are strongly encouraged to apply. DSU takes great pride in mentioning that three of its former students got selected for this semester exchange program and went to USA in previous years. Existing undergraduate students of DSU are strongly encouraged to apply.

SEASONED JOURNALIST AND MEDIA EXPERT MR. MAZHAR ABBAS VISIT DSU

The International Relations Program invited the seasoned journalist and media expert Mr. Mazhar Abbas to find a collaboration between DSU IR program and the ever expanding field of Media. The purpose was to incorporate the knowledge, expertise and experience of Mr. Mazhar Abbas for future growth and learning.

The Vice Chancellor DSU- Engr. Dr. Afzal Haque, Head of Department H&SS – Dr. Razi Sultan Ahmed, Program Manager IR – Dr. Samreen Bari and faculty members of Humanities and Social Sciences also attended the meeting.

Mr. Mustafa Raza , Senior lecturer of International Relations Program was invited for a guest lecture by the faculty of Engineering, Science, Technology and Management of Ziauddin University Karachi.

During the lecture he discussed Pakistan’s tangled history of governance failures, non-elected institutions’ domination over parliament politics, and missed economic opportunities. He stated that the socio-economic changes of the last decade have changed the dynamics between state and society, thus, creating a larger, more politically assertive middle class. Once politics catches up with these changes the foundation would be laid for a functional and responsive state, he suggested.

Lecture was attended by the head of department, students and faculty members. In the last, honorary shield was presented to Mr. Mustafa Raza for his scholarly contribution.

APPLICATIONS OPEN: SCOTLAND PAKISTAN SCHOLARSHIP FOR YOUNG WOMEN AND GIRLS 2023-24

Applications for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarship Scheme for Young Women and Girls 2023-24 are now open.
British Council in collaboration with the Scottish Government first launched this scheme in 2013 with the aim of promoting higher education amongst Pakistani women. The Scotland Pakistan Scholarship caters to
women from financially disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing higher education and helps them achieve their educational ambitions and so far has supported over 1900 students.

These scholarships are offered to female students enrolled in master’s and bachelor’s programmes in the fields of education, agriculture and food security, sustainable energy, health sciences, and STEM engineering
(STEM is only applicable at Master’s level), all areas of critical importance to Pakistan.

Administered directly by the British Council, this scholarship will facilitate award-holders with the following incentives:

· Tuition fees for bachelor’s or master’s courses in eligible fields

· University hostel costs (where applicable)

· Travel to and from home to university two times a year for students staying in on-campus hostels
