Unscheduled shutdowns due to abrupt machine failure cost industry heavy losses annually. Students of EE developed a prototype for health motioning of 3-phase induction motor using deep learning network for early detection and identification of faults. This project was sponsored by NCRA-CMS Lab (National Centre of Robotics and Automation-Condition Monitoring Systems lab). Their work was highly appreciated by NCRA research team and was published in 3rd International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Industry (ICRAI).

Engr. Meshal Iqbal Shah, an alumna of DSU’s Dept. of Electrical Engineering & presently employed at a German based firm, speaks about how DSU’s highly qualified Electrical Engineering EE faculty played a pivotal role in giving her the necessary skill-set and providing her a strong foundation of practical concepts, facilitating her to be successful in the Engineering Sector as a working professional. Meshal Iqbal Shah was DSU’s Star Student who graduated with flying colors and has the distinction of having presented her research paper at a renowned International IEEE Conferences, during her Bachelors studies. She is also selected for the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to study a joint master’s degree in Europe. DSU’s Dept. of EE believes in equipping its students with a professional skill-set that enables them to embark on rewarding career paths after their graduation.

I feel immense pride when my family and friends ask me about my alma mater and the name of DHA Suffa University comes up. I did my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from DSU and I believe that was the best decision I took when I was shortlisting colleges for higher education.

DSU gave me the opportunity to represent Pakistan and the University itself on two international platforms. The first one being a model-airplane competition in the USA and the latter being an automotive event in Singapore. Both the events’ expenses were fully borne by the university itself and I believe this is something that is not found in any other university. DHA Suffa University encourages students to focus on studies as well as skill development and readily provides any help that they may require in the process.

I worked as a Maintenance Engineer at a well reputed private company, providing maintenance services to clients all across Pakistan, before moving to the United States to attend Graduate School. I am currently working at University of South Carolina at Columbia as well as pursuing my Master of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering here at UofSC.
