Art Therapy Session – 16th October 2023

The Office of Alumni Relations, in collaboration with its corporate partner Dr. Essa Laboratory and Diagnostics Center, conducted an Art Therapy Session for DSU Fraternity on the 16th of October, 2023.

Ms. Faryal Asif, with over 11 years of experience in the field, engaged the audience with interesting art-related activities and provided insightful revelations about stress, its causes and how to deal with it effectively. She also encouraged our Faculty members to adopt activity-based teaching methodology to increase student’s participation levels. The Q&A session was filled with queries from the participants which were catered nicely by the trainer with detailed information on each of them.

At the end of this highly interactive and thought-provoking session, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas presented a memento to Ms. Faryal Asif as a token of thanks on behalf of DSU.

Inter DIs Bilingual Declamation Contest – October 11, 2023

Under the supervision of Ms. Tehseen Azhar, Director of Alumni Relations and Chairperson of Public Speaking Society (PSS), DHA Suffa University’s students Ms. Yusra Kakar and Ms. Bilquees Fayaz represented DSU at DHACSS College for Women for Inter DIs Bilingual Declamation Contest on 11th October 2023 in the college auditorium.

This event was a part of DHA Karachi’s ‘Clean and Green’ initiatives for creating awareness of a ‘clean and green eco-friendly environment’ among youth. The institutions that participated were: DHACSS Degree College, DHACSS SKBZ Campus (O & A levels), DHACSS Creek Campus, DHACSS College for Women and DHA SUFFA University. The total number of participants was 10, and the winners were awarded prizes, both in English & Urdu categories. The contestants were discerned, by the honorable judges comprised of Mrs. Afshan Yasmeen and Ms. Maryam Zahid.

Ms. Yusra Kakar of DSU claimed the second prize in the English category.

AWARENESS SESSION ON DIABETES

An internal awareness session on Diabetes, it’s types, prevention and treatment was organized by Community Service Department of DHA Suffa University, was attended by a number of teaching and non-teaching staff members. Dr. Jaipal Chabria of Sambros Hospital discussed at length about Diabetes, its types, causes, treatment and prevention methods. The audience took a lot of interest and asked different questions that were answered by Dr. Jaipal. The session went very smooth and at the end the participants realized the importance of health management and also.gained knowledge about Diabetes. The meeting ended with a thank you note and presentation of momento to the guest from the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Brigadier Ahmed Saeed Minhas.

CERTIFICATION DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY AT REGENT PLAZA

The Certification Distribution Ceremony, held as part of the IT-Industry Academic Bridge Program, concluded on a highly positive note at the Regent Plaza. This remarkable event was a collaborative effort between the Information Science and Technology Department, the Government of Sindh, and the Hazza Institute of Technology. During this event, the accomplished students from the 8th semester of the Computer Science Department at DHA Suffa University were honored with certificates. These certificates were presented by Mr. Rana Hussain, Minister of Education Sindh, and Mr. Asif Ikram, the Secretary of the Information Science and Technology Department.

Adding to the prestige of the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hussain, the Dean of the EAS (Engineering and Applied Sciences) Department DHA Suffa University, shared his valuable insights and thoughts on the significance of the IT-Industry Academic Bridge Program. The event served as a platform to celebrate the successful collaboration and achievements of students and institutions alike.

IT-INDUSTRY ACADEMIC BRIDGE PROGRAM CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

In collaboration with the Hazza Institute of Technology (HIT), the Computer Science Department hosted a Certificate Distribution Ceremony event to celebrate the achievements of successful graduates from courses offered within the IT-Industry Academic Bridge Program. This program, known for bridging the gap between academia and industry, has empowered students from the 6th, 7th, and 8th semesters with valuable skills and knowledge.

JOB FAIR HOSTED BY COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT DSU

The Computer Science Department at DHA Suffa University hosted a Job Fair on Thursday, September 21st. This event aimed to connect students with a wide array of prospective employers, providing them with valuable opportunities to secure employment immediately upon graduating from the university. Multiple renowned companies were extended invitations to participate in this event, underscoring our commitment to facilitating our students’ seamless transition into the workforce.
