The 𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐋 (𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲) team from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) visit to the Micro Electronics Research Lab – MERL DSU on 25th January 2024 at DHA Suffa University (Official). During the visit, the SSUET team had the opportunity to witness the latest achievement of MERL DSU a newly received silicon designed through their participation in the 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐫 (𝐌𝐏𝐖-𝟐 & 𝐌𝐏𝐖-𝟔), sponsored by Google, Efabless Corporation (efabless.com), and SkyWater Technology.

The MERL DSU team took the initiative to showcase their advanced capabilities by presenting the newly fabricated silicon to the SSUET visitors. This accomplishment marked a significant milestone for the DSU chapter, highlighting their commitment to cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of microelectronics.

In addition to the silicon demonstration, the MERL DSU team organized a comprehensive 𝐅𝐏𝐆𝐀 (𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝-𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐲) tutorial for the visiting SSUET team. This tutorial aimed to provide insights into FPGA technology, its applications, and practical aspects of its implementation. The interactive session facilitated knowledge exchange and served as a platform for collaboration between the two MERL chapters.

The visit not only strengthened the ties between MERL DSU and MERL SSUET but also provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing and collaboration in the dynamic field of microelectronics.

NTC team visit to DHA Suffa University

The NTC team conducted a visit to DHA SUFFA University on January 17, 2024, focusing on the initiatve of BS Computer Technology program. Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Engineering and Applied Sciences, Dr. Ahmed Hussain. The visit encompassed a series of significant meetings with the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Haque, Pro Vice Chancellor Brig Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas, Registrar Brig Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Iqbal, Dean EAS Engr. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Hussain , and Head of the Department Dr. Muhammad Tayyab Yaqoob. Subsequently, the team engaged in an informative session with the faculty, featuring presentations that covered program highlights, and future plans. The exploration extended to practical aspects with a round visit to various facilities, including laboratories, the ELT room, and the library. The NTC team were briefed about the university’s academic and infrastructural capabilities to start the BS Computer Technology program.

International Relations Department of DHA Suffa University hosted today renowned research scholar, media personality, Chairperson SASSI University Islamabad Dr. Maria Sultan who deliverd a candid Talk on most talked about contemporary topic Pakistan-Iran Standoff Under the Shadow.of Deterrence .

DSU IR students had a wonderful opportunity to learn dynamics of contemporary global and regional politics. Q&A session was also equally beneficial.

DSU International Relations students are being groomed for enhancing their analytical capacities.

DHA Suffa University collaborated with IDP Education Pakistan

DHA Suffa University is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IDP Education Pakistan.

IDP Education is a global education services company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. It specializes in facilitating international student placement and connecting students with universities, around the world. IDP operates in over 30 countries, providing a range of services such as student placement, English language testing (IELTS), and online education. IDP plays a significant role in supporting students in their pursuit of higher education abroad.

This partnership aims to empower students’ study abroad journeys, starting with conquering the IELTS. It would provide support for students to navigating registration and exam prep to tackling test-taking strategies. Beyond just IELTS success, the partnership provide valuable resources for DSU Sstudents for their college applications, visa processing, and more, ensuring a smooth path to achieving their global education dreams. This partnership promises to equip students with the tools and confidence to ace the IELTS exams and embark on their study abroad adventure with ease.

In the end, Pro Vice Chancellor Brig. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Minhas presented a shield as a memento to Mr. Muhammad Ahsan Rafiq (Test Center Administrator – IDP) and appreciated the efforts of IERC Directorate.

Awareness Seminars on Quality Assurance for HSS Students

The Quality Enhancement Cell at DHA Suffa University is dedicated to enhancing the overall quality of education and administrative processes. As part of its ongoing efforts to maintain high standards in academia, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) recently organized two seminars on Internal Quality Assessment Mechanisms.

The seminars were conducted by Ms. Fatima Kiran, who serves as the QEC Coordinator HSS. The seminars delved into various aspects of quality assessment, including:

  • Understanding HEC’s Self-Assessment Criteria: Participants gained insights into the criteria set by the HEC for self-assessment purposes.
  • Ranking Criteria and Maximum Scores: The session covered the criteria used for ranking academic programs and the maximum scores assigned to each criterion by HEC.
  • Self-Assessment of Programs: Students were briefed about process of self-assessing academic programs to ensure that all programs meet the required quality standards.
  • Feedback and Survey Forms: Participants learned about the significance of feedback and survey forms in gathering valuable input for program improvement.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): The concept of Continuous Quality Improvement was explored, emphasizing its role in ongoing enhancements to the educational experience.
  • Assessment Outcomes: The session provided insights into how assessments contribute to overall program improvement.

Towards the end of the seminars, students were encouraged to ask questions, fostering an open and interactive learning environment. These seminars aimed to empower students with a deeper understanding of quality assessment processes at DSU and their vital role in maintaining high educational standards.

Mechanical Engineering students visit to Hussein Engineering Works (Pvt.) Ltd.

On December 28, 2023, DHA Suffa University’s fifth-semester Mechanical Engineering students were immersed in a transformative visit to Hussein Engineering Works (Pvt.) Ltd. Organized by Engr. Naveed Ahmed Khatri and accompanied by Engr. Zeeshan Ellahi Vohra, the students witnessed and undertood the complex art of automotive part manufacturing.
Situated in Karachi, Hussein Engineering has been a pioneer in machined casting since 1979, catering as an OEM to Pakistan’s top automotive assemblers. The students were treated to a comprehensive tour, witnessing Sand Casting, Precision Machining with Lathe and CNC Milling machines, CAD Designing, Forging and Heat Treatment, and Material testing.
The management showcased their expertise in crafting Ventilated Brake Discs, Brake Drums, Wheel Hubs, and more, demonstrating their technological finesse. This hands-on experience bridged the gap between theory and practice, enriching the students’ understanding of automotive engineering.
