Meezan Bank & DHA Suffa University inks Grant

Considering the challenging economic times Meezan bank approved a grant for FACULTY DEVELOPMENT and training. Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui SEVP and group head Meezan bank and Dr Muhammad Afzal Haque Vice Chancellor Dha Suffa University signed the agreement on Friday at University campus. The main purpose of the grant is to fund training of faculty in the areas of Islamic Banking and Finance, halal marketing, best practices in Human Resource management and leadership keeping cognizant of Islamic values. Mr. Siddiqui further announced that keeping in line with the UN Sustainable Development goals faculty can participate in writing cases, research, design and development of ethical and sustainability programs. Dr Afzal welcomed the grant and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the University with a view toward a long term mutually beneficial relationship. He also appreciated the tireless efforts of Mr. Mashkoor Khan EVP, Regional Head Meezan Bank and Mr. Naqi Azam Senior Advisor Dha Suffa University in bringing to fruition the grant. Finally, Mr. Siddiqui who is also a Director at IBA-CIEF mentioned that Suffa University will be intimated of the upcoming courses as per grant guidelines. The main benefit for Suffa Faculty would be capacity building at subsidized rates from IBA -CIEF and NIBAF.

SITECH Student Seminar by Mr. Aqeel Ahmed Group CEO SITECH

The group CEO of SITECH Mr. Aqeel Ahmad visited DSU and gave a talk to the students where he discussed their future visions and motivated them to contribute to the society with their skills. He quoted examples of famous inventors and entrepreneurs to highlight their vision and passion towards solving societal problems. PEC FYP Award Ceremony

A team from Pakistan Engineering Council consisting of Engr. Mir Masood Rashid Advisor to the Chairman PEC, Mr. Muhammad Najeeb Wali Vice President Cantonment Board Clifton and a representative of Karachi Electric visited DSU to award the cheque for the funding of FYP on 17 March 2023. IMPORTANCE OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN FUTURE CAREER: A JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Dr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhury, Professor Emeritus, MUET visited Suffa University on Monday afternoon and delivered a talk about professional development and shared his experience from his illustrious career. He was keen to highlight the rise from humble beginnings and rising to Emeritus Professor level through hard work and participation in professional development workshops, trainings, conferences and faculty exchange activities. He also encouraged the students to participate in professional societies like IEEE to help build their network and self-worth.

ONE NATION, ONE DESTINATION, DRUGS FREE PAKISTAN

Today, DSU organised and hosted an extremely important social event with regard to creating awareness about drugs abuse and its negative impact on society.

DG ANF Major General Aneeq ur Rehman HI(M), presided the session.

The event was attended by notables from all walks of life who all vowed to become Ambassadors of ANF and meet ANF and Pakistan’s collective mission of “ONE NATION, ONE DESTINATION, DRUGS FREE PAKISTAN”.
