On Thursday 9th September 2021, Industrial and Academic liaison session between DSU’s Management and Ms. Uzma Safdar, Head of HR and Administration, Herbion Natural Pharmaceutical was held in which they discussed opportunities for DSU’s students.
Session on Importance of Resume / CV And Effective Interview Skills with Ms. Mehwish Khan Director Strath Group was held on Thursday 9th September 2021 on Zoom.
Her expertise are in Financial Planning, Business Strategy and Management. She is an accomplished professional with 15 years of work experience in dynamic cities such as Toronto, Dubai and Karachi. She completed her education in Canada and her background is in IT Management, International Business and Financial Advice. Strath Group is committed to providing insights to students so they can effectively succeed in their careers.

Alumni Relations Office collaborated with HR Dost to organize a workshop on ‘Sindh Factories Act – 2015 – Labour Laws and its Impact on Industry’ by Dr. Perwez Shafi – GM – Bureau of Labor Pakistan. The workshop was held at DSU’s ELT from 09:00 am – 02:00 pm on Saturday 4th of September, 2021. Among the audience were Pro-VC DSU Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas and Industry professionals from Lucky Textile Mills Ltd., Burque Corporation Pvt. Ltd., Midas Safety, Opal Laboratories, HRSI, Ashkhaas HR Management & Consultants, Far Eastern Impex (Pvt) Ltd, Akhtar Textile Industries Pvt. Ltd, Herbion Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd., Atlas Battery Ltd., and HR Legends, among others.
Dr. Perwez Shafi shared his vast knowledge and experience in the subject field with the participants. He provided examples of real-life cases and the rulings of the Supreme Court in those scenarios. The session was highly interactive, as the participants asked many scenario-based questions, which were answered by Dr. Perwez Shafi, along with their legal ramifications.
At the end of the session, Pro-VC expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ayaz Ali – Team HR Dost and Ms. Tehseen Azhar – Director Alumni Relations for arranging such a valuable session. He then addressed the audience to suggest courses and workshops, which DSU should offer for the development of their employees and organizations. Pro-VC also announced 25% Scholarship to the referred personnel from their respective organizations in DSU’s MBA Program.
In the end, Pro-VC presented shields on behalf of DSU to Dr. Perwez Shafi – GM – Bureau of Labour Publications and Mr. Ghulam Mustafa – CEO – HR Legends. He then presented certificates to all the participants on behalf of HR Dost.
Students Societies Coordination Committee, DHA Suffa University arranged a program in commemoration of the Defence Day. The session was interspersed with soul-stirring videos paying tribute to the martyrs for their relentless sacrifices. Students spoke about the significance of the Defence Day in inculcating the spirit of sacrifice for the dear motherland. The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas and Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Afzal Haque also spoke on the occasion.
Alumni Relations Office in collaboration with its Corporate Partner – Travel Panda arranged an eight days trip to Hunza valley, Naltar valley and Attabad Lake for the DSU Fraternity. The trip took place on 21st August – 28th August 2021 and proved to be a great success based on the post-trip feedback from the participants.
The trip to the northern areas provided a refreshing break from work and study for many and aided in uniting and strengthening the DSU network.
Four DSU participants consisting of DSU Alumni, Students and Faculty along with the travel group went on this adventurous trip where they enjoyed beautiful views of Hunza valley, rafting in Naran, amazing time at Babosar top, Boating and Jetski at Attabad Lake, zipline at Rakaposhi viewpoint, beautiful views from Eagles Nest view, wonderful adventure of trekking at Naltar valley, and much more.
From Karachi to Lahore, Lahore to Hunza valley, Hunza valley to Naltar valley and from Lahore to back to Karachi. The participants appreciated and cherished the efforts of DSU’s Alumni Relations Department and its corporate partner Travel Panda for arranging a safe and secure environment where they were able to enjoy and connect with their fellow DSU fraternity members.
AMC Internship Program and Faculty interactive session was held on August 27th, 2021, at DHA Suffa University. The session was arranged for DSU’s all departments. The respectable guests were Ms. Faree Naz & Mr. Umer Farooq Lari from Ahmed Manufacturing Corporation Pvt. Ltd.
