Computer Aided Designing using SolidWorks
Program Objectives:
The primary objective of this program is to build the capacity of trainees in the following core areas of Computer Aided Designing. These include:
- Apply CAD and CAE software tools to engineering design and analysis.
- Create 2D sketches and understand geometric constraints.
- Model basic and detailed 3D parts.
- Document and generate technical drawings and views for manufacturing.
Who Should Attend:
- Individuals intending to take SOLIDWORKS Associate Certificate - CSWA
- Individuals intending to learn the basics of SOLIDWORKS
- Individuals wanting to get started with 3D modeling
- Individuals wanting to get a better job via SOLIDWORKS skills
- Individuals wanting to list SOLIDWORKS skills in their resume
- Designers, Engineers, Makers, and Hobbyists
Program Brief:
Today’s dominant technology trends—cloud computing, mobile technology, social connection, and collaboration—are driving businesses and consumers alike to explore profoundly different ways to design, make, and use things. This kind of industry transformation has happened before, but the pace of change is now much faster. In today’s competitive landscape, anyone can be an innovator—and it’s all about who innovates first. The future of making things lies with digital manufacturing—a process that radically changes how things are made. Digital manufacturing drives collaboration and the exchange of data across the entire product lifecycle from design, testing, and manufacture to the sourcing of materials, distribution, and customer use.
This course covers computer aided design using software (SolidWorks) to analyze and design the products in a virtual environment. It aims at inculcating a wide array of skill-set range in the students so that they can become contributors to the indigenous design and development of solutions by designing all the major systems, starting from basics of designing with relevance of national and international industry needs. This course is primarily aimed at equipping the trainees to perform commercially in a market space in independent capacity or as a member of a team.
