What does Suffa mean?
The name “Suffa” is derived from that rectangular platform in Prophet’s mosque, where some of the companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) spent their time acquiring knowledge from him. It is meant to generate the same thirst for knowledge amongst the faculty and students of DHA Suffa University, enabling them to achieve the highest standards in teaching, learning and research.

The Electrical Engineering department at DHA Suffa University is offering a 4-year National Technology Council (NTC) accredited Bachelors program in Engineering Technology. The Bachelors of Engineering Technology conforms to current NTC guidelines. At DHA Suffa University, we offer the following Engineering Technology stream:

The faculty of EE is actively engaged in developing solutions for the present problems using futuristic concepts through research projects that have great potential for local and overseas funding and grants. Every class room at DHA Suffa University is equipped with a multimedia and an e-rostrum. Faculty members can easily run software simulations in class giving students an interactive learning experience.
DHA Suffa university’s Electrical Engineering Labs are very versatile, dynamic and state of the art and have been established with the aim of giving students hands-on experience of embedded systems, data acquisition, feedback control, communication systems and electrical power systems. We continuously procure modern equipment and trainers as per the need of current and future technological advancements.
The Labs of the EE Department are well equipped with the latest test & measurement and computing equipment to make students experience the real essence and fundamentals of Electrical Engineering design. Some of the latest additions in our Labs are:

-International Education Resource Center (I.E.R.C)
The International Education Resource Center (IERC) has been set up with the goal of promoting foreign higher education opportunities at DHA Suffa University. It strives to provide an interface for DHA Suffa University’s students to access the study abroad programs of leading international universities.
DSU’s IERC provides students the opportunity to participate in various foreign mobility programs including international semester exchange programs, foreign summer camps and foreign internship programs.

Co-Curricular & Extra-Curricular Activities
Co-curricular activities that are offered at DSU cater to a diverse range of interests. Debating competitions, sports tournaments, society events and workshops & seminars provide students a break from the rigorous study workload and inculcate in them skills necessary for success in their professional lives.
In line with our belief that education does not have to be devoid of entertainment, extra-curricular activities such as field trips, carnivals and educational trips guarantee DSU’s students a complete and memorable university experience.
All the expenses of the participating students are borne by the University. Winners of various competitions are awarded appreciation certificates in addition to monetary benefits.
Student Societies
Life at DSU is not only about academics. We realize that our students need respite from their tough study schedules which is necessary for them to re-charge their energies and for a well-rounded development of their personalities. The Student Societies Coordination Committee (SSCC) manages a wide range of on-campus societies and clubs that offer both co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Outcome Based Education (OBE) System
DSU’s Electrical Engineering department believe in the overall development of a student as an engineer by working S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely). For this we have transformed our entire academic portfolio to the Outcome Based Education System (OBE). We focus on the overall development of a student as an Engineering Professional, thus indulging our students in co-curricular and extra-curricular academic activities. Our students are rigorously polished to deliver innovative and creative engineering solutions to the current societal problems.
